Purps Place Review: G.O.A.T.- 1 Nite(I can make ya chick a pornstar)

Another track I got in my email this time by G.O.A.T. Soooo here we go.

Tracks got that classic laid back type of crunk beat but G.O.A.T.'s flow really makes the track shine. Definately a shake junt type of track. I really like this dudes flow and confidence. This track really has some radio potential. Flow that never falls off point during the track with a screwed hook. Expect to hear some more bangers from G.O.A.T. 8.5/10

Make sure you all follow G.O.A.T. on twitter @CashCountyGoat

Purps Place Review: Rob D, HOT TOPIK 258, and KB- I Told Yah

I got this lil treat in my email last night through a follower on Twitter @IamRobD so lets review "I Told Yah"...

First and mainly I gotta say this beat takes me back to the heyday of No Limit's production by KLC and Mo B Dick. That classic 90's Louisiana flavor. First verse is Hot Topik 258. I personally like him, he's got that mic presence that pulls you into the track and his confidence shows in his voice. Very solid flow and lyrics, almost reminds me of a young Mac. Second verse is KB, not as good as Hot Topik but still stands out besides falling off beat once or twice he still delivers a very good verse. Third is Rob D, the flanger effects on his vocals add a nice touch to this song with a nice flow to back it up. Looking forward to hearing more from him.

Overall i'm really feeling this track, with the flows, hook and production it really takes me back to when I would bump No Limit records in the house. I wish there was more music like this out there. 9/10

Purps Place Album Review: Gucci Mane- Return of Mr. Zone 6

BURR!!! Gucci's back with "Return of Mr Zone 6". The album artwork featuring the now notorious Burr Ice Cream Cone Tat. We're gonna take a look at Gucci Mane's latest effort that was almost entirely produced by Drumma Boy.

1: "24 Hours"- "I'm up 24 hours, money and the power, stuntin on da hoes and im shittin on da cowards" Is the line that kicks off this album along with some nice creepy bells. This Drumma Boy produced track is good start to this album with some real solid flow by Gucci. 8/10

2: "Mouth Full of Golds" ft Birdman- Another Drumma Boy produced track. Gucci starts this one off with a faster flow than usual which is a nice compliment to the beat along with better lyricism compared to his previous albums and mixtapes. Birdman comes with a decent flow on this one even though the lyrical content is nothing out of the norm for him but a decent verse that compliments the track. Nothing special about the hook of this track which get very repititive. "Rich ass nigga with a mouth full of gold" repeated over and over. Other than that a pretty decent track. 7.5/10

3: "This is What I Do" ft Waka Flocka Flame and OJ Da Juiceman- So far this track is my favorite with a hard beat, a catchy hook and solid verses from all the 1017 Bricksquad members. Again Gucci shows some improved lyricism. I may have a biased opinion of Waka conidering that im a big fan so i'll just say he didnt disappoint me on this one. A very similar flow to "O Lets Do It" by him. Some of the usual lyrical content by OJ on this one but he never fails to catch my attention in his track. In my opinion one of the most underated artists outta ATL. This is one of the best tracks on the album thus far. 9/10

4: "Reckless" ft Cap and Chill Will- A decent verse by Gucci kicks this one off but definately not one of his best. Cap reminds me alot of DG Yola with of voice and flow. Very good verse by him that leaves me wanting to hear him more. Chill Will delivers a pretty good verse, nothing out of this world but he's pretty good. The hook on this track gets very repetitive. Cap and Chill Will really save an underwhelming attempt by Gucci on this track. 7.5/10(Thanks to the features more than anything)

5: "Shout Out to My Set" ft Wooh da Kid- Wooh da Kid kicks off this track with a very solid verse. My first time hearing him but his verse is leaving me wanting to look for more of his tracks. A good verse by Gucci on this one. Definately better than his verse on the previous track. A very solid track here with a great beat. 8/10

6: "I don't Love Her" ft Rocko and Webbie- The first track i heard off this album in the club. I honestly love this song. Great beat led by an old organ. Great flow by Gucci as well as improvement on lyrical content compares to previous efforts. I've never been a Rocko fan but he was added a nice touch to an already good track. Webbie delivers a great verse like he usually does, adding that Lousiana feel to the track with his flow. Great song! 9/10

7: "Better Baby"- Gucci's first solo song since the opening track of the album. Noticed how he delivers better hooks on his solo tracks. Very solid beat by Drumma Boy that Gucci compliments with a great flow on this one along with that improved lyricism. 9/10

8: "Brinks" ft Master P- The beat to this track instantly pulls me in along with the Master P feature. One of my favorites off the album. Great verse by Gucci along with a catchy hook. Nice to see P back with a verse that I can compare to his Glory days in No Limit ala Mr Ice Cream Man. If P does more tracks like this on his new album it could be the first album I buy from him since "Da Last Don". Excellent track!!! 9.5/10(Catch the chopped and Screwed version of this track on my new mixtape "Kush and Codeine" Dropping this Saturday on Dat Piff and That Crack!)

9: "Pretty Bitches" ft Wale- Autotuned Gucci! Lol. Never though I'd say that. Don't sound bad but he shouldn't do it again. A very solid track that has definate mainstream appeal. Nice to hear Gucci really switch it up. The recent Maybach Music Group signee Wale delivers a great verse on this track. I really love this guys flow. Expect Wale to do some real big things in his career. 9/10

10: "Pancakes" ft Waka Flocka Flame and 8 Ball- This beat pulls me in like a fuckin magnet. A definate hood anthem here. Sick ass verse from Gucci to kick this one off along with one of the catchiest hooks of the album. Again a great verse from Waka, really compliments an already sick track. The legend 8 Ball brings his trademark flow to this anthem. Definately the icing on the cake. Best song off the album 10/10

11: "Hell Yeah" ft Slim Dunkin- Great upbeat track with a catchy hook. Great hyped up enthusiastic flow by Gucci on this one. Very impressive verse by Slim Dunkin here, very confident flow here that compliments the track. 8.5/10

12: "My Year"- Autotuned Gucci again! This song takes a very different direction than everything else on the album. Very strong mainstream appeal on this one. Expect to eventually hear this Drumma Boy produced track on the radio. Pretty good track for a mainstream sound. 8/10

13: "Trick or Treat" ft Slim Dunkin, Wooh da Kid and Waka Flocka Flame- Nice guitars kick off this beat which leads into a nice catchy hook. Nice flow by Gucci on this track similar to off of "Back to da Trap House". Another very impressive verse delivered by Slim Dunkin. Wooh da Kid brings a nice touch to this track with a flow very similar to something you'd hear from Wale. Sick fast flow from Waka on this one. He's never been a very lyrical artist but he knows how to hype up the fans. 10/10

Overall it's a great album by Gucci. This was a record that worried people due to the troubles he's had lately but instead of completely flopping he delivers a record with excellent production, improved lyricism and flow and some great features. Even for those who hated Gucci's previous work, I implore you to check out "Return of Mr. Zone 6" definately a big improvement. 8.5/10 Overall
